Vertical 33

Singular Microclimates. Minimal Intervention

Vertical 33 was founded by Dr. Eid Azar — a New York-trained physician turned vigneron — who returned to Lebanon and stumbled upon wild, pre-phylloxera vines on the slopes of Mount Kneisseh. That discovery became a mission: to revive forgotten vineyards and express Lebanon’s high-altitude terroirs through minimal intervention winemaking.

Farming small, east-facing plots between 950 and 1,400 m, Vertical 33 grows native and noble grapes including Obeidi, Cinsault, Carignan, and Cabernet Sauvignon — each thriving in a distinct microclimate.

The wines are whole-bunch fermented with indigenous yeast, aged in cement and stainless steel, and bottled without filtration or additives beyond minimal Sulphur.

Crafted with minimal intervention and maximum respect, these are soulful, high-elevation wines that channel site and season in every bottle.
